Start Destination Daily Miles / Total
Turner Swamp Rd Dwight's shed in Daddysville 18.7 today / 271.4 total

Aaaah. Good sleep. The dog only barked once that I heard and that was only because I was already awake and repositioning myself on my mat. As is not unusual I was provided with a warm morning greeting and a few edibles. Writing that reminds me of something. I cooked up some Ramen Noodles in the tent for breakfast. To eat them I lie on my stomach with my head over the bowl. In this position I noticed the abundance of slugs oozing their way around the pine needle carpet. My eyes and face were 6-8 inches from the undulating slug bodies while my mouth was full of slippery noodles. Ugh. I wanted to gag.

I had a mission to get a picture of the house and dogs before I left. Good thing too because I forgot to take any other pictures until after I arrived at the Holiday Inn in Lamm and photographed the weather forecast. I luckily missed some storms while getting my shower and rinsing my clothes. It was nice to have access to a computer and the net all night also.

The only noteworthy event was a quick police stop about 3 miles short of my destination. His story was that there had been some breakins nearby and some residents had called after seeing me walking down the street. I suspect he was simply a little curious after having seen me walking earlier in the day and now x miles further and especially since he had a ride-along intern type with him. Anyway we talked for a little bit about the trail which (no surprise) he hadn't ever heard of, and he confirmed that there were still plenty of hotels up the road at the interchange.

It was a relief to finally get into my hotel room. The last several miles seemed harder than they should have been. After an impromptu detour around a new highway I lost my momentum. Thank goodness that I was given a handicap accessible room. I used the little shower seat to take a nice long and much needed shower. It was wonderful to just sit under the hot pounding spray and take a long shower.
