Journey's End Camp II to Journey's End Trailhead to Jay to Montgomery
30 Oct 2005
Day 33
5.4 miles, 286.3 cumulative miles

Ahhhhh. A guilt free extra late start is what I fondly remember about this morning. Last night was frigid but warmed up by the time I was moving around the shelter. Outside the sky was clearing. It would be a gorgeous day.

Still overjoyed at finishing, I moved rapidly down the trail with a big grin. There was a couple inches of snow on the ground but the trail was largely clear. Soon I was at the deserted trailhead. A little over a mile later I was on the blacktop walking to Jay where I'd hitch to Montgomery. It was a pleasant winding down to my hike.

Here I am in the Snowshoe again. The steaks are huge, quality, and cheap. I love this town. Seemingly everybody knows me and I call people by name. I feel like a local here. Sadly tomorrow I come up with a plan for leaving Vermont. Time to return.

That's all for this trip. Time to plan my next.
