Astorga - Rabanal del Camino
13 November 2002
Day's km: 21
Overall km: 903.5

This could have been a pleasant day, but the weather became progressively worse. The morning was cold, windy, and lightly drizzling. I managed a quick tour of the town center before I headed out. The day ended in a wind driven rain as I approached Rabanal del Camino. I was borderline soaked when I finally found the albergue. Well, under my poncho was just a little wet, but the hood is annoying so I was not using it and my hair was wet, my pants were sticking to my legs, and water was beginning to come through my boots.

Now my clothes are drying, and I am journalling in the dining room. There is a fire going, but it has not really started warming the place up yet. I think most of the pilgrims have arrived by now. It is 15:21. No shops in this town so we will probably be heading out to one of the 2 restaurants. I am carrying some canned food, cheese, and salami that I want to snack on before that though. It is sort of heavy.

I passed the 900 km point today. About 238 km remain to Santiago which should take another 9 days or so.
