The coyotes are loud this evening. It sounds like a pack is below me at Maxie Tank, They sporadically start howling. I like the sound. I saw a coyote much earlier in the day also and even got a movie. I've seen more wildlife on this trek than any other. Two sets of deer today as well. Yuck. I think there was a drowned bug in my tea when I took a sip. Always check first. You'd think I'd know better by now. My pictures don't really sow it but there were lots of small, gentle ups and downs today. The AZT took a convoluted path using forest roads and some single track. It was cool, sometimes cold, again. In fact I finished the hike wearing a fleece jacket. I had to put it on at brown Shuffy's Tank where I filtered water. My prefilter is clogged now and my main cannister is becoming difficult to pump water through. I keep forgetting to backflush when I am in town. I have a replacement filter element in my bounce box though. I'll be in Flagstaff in three days so nothing to worry about. |
