I encountered my first snow around Miller Peak today. Before the peak it was small patches that were easily avoided. On the other side of the mountain the trail was covered for about a half mile. It wasn't deep but it was icy and I really didn't want to skate off the trail. This mountain is very steep.

There was much rejoicing when I made it past the peak. Much credit to the trail builders who snaked the path through all the rock formations. That was impressive work. During the very steep descent on the Sunnyside Canyon Trail.

I jacked my pinky toes. They each got mushed into the shoe and I have a feeling that I might lose those toenails. And while I limped down the mountainside a bug flew in my mouth. What will tomorrow bring?
